Upon Spring Hill just on the outskirts of Xenia, Ohio, rises a stately and timeless, red brick, 1868 Italianate house. The area is know for its civil war era homes and rich history. Thornhill house, as most know it is, was built by George Duke Thornhill and his building associates of Drew’s and Thornhill. As a carpenter Thornhills work is featured in many homes for this time frame in Xenia, but his own residence is a stand alone example of hard work and detailed craftsmanship. The has stood over 160 years and thru that passage of time has seen the love and care of only a few family’s.
